Route 60: The Biblical Highway (Giveaway Winner Announcement)

Hello, Elegant Ones

Happy First Day of Fall!

As I read my Bible, I remember the many places Jesus walked. I have often thought a trip to the Holy Land would be the perfect vacation, so much so that I even named one of my puppies Israel.
The new documentary Route 60: The Biblical Highway follows David Friedman and Mike Pompeo as they journey along Route 60 in Israel. The two political leaders traveled the 146-mile road from Nazareth in the north to Beersheba in the south, sharing Biblical and personal stories of the sites. They tread the same ground Abraham, Jacob, King David, and Jesus once walked. Today, Route 60 connects Jews, Christians, Muslims, Israelis, Palestinians, truthfully, every one of us.

The documentary played in theaters for only two days this past week. However, you can preorder the film’s DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Download in mid-October 2023.

Route 60: The Biblical Highway (Movie Review and Giveaway)

Hello, Elegant Ones!

I pray that you are having a wonderful day!

Ever since I was a young child, I have been reading and studying my Bible. The story of Jesus and His disciples, Joseph and his brothers, and Noah and the animals are as much a part of my life as anything else. I often wonder what it would be like to visit these sites and to see it for myself.

The new documentary Route 60: The Biblical Highway explores some of these sites through the eyes of David Friedman and Mike Pompeo. Freidman served as the United States Ambassador to Israel from 2017 to 2021, while Pompeo served as Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021. Friedman and Pompeo explore the significance of the historic Route 60 that connects modern-day Israel with the ancient Israel we read about in the Bible. The two political leaders traveled the 146-mile road from Nazareth in the north to Beersheba in the south, sharing Biblical and personal stories of the sites. They tread the same ground Abraham, Jacob, King David, and Jesus once walked. Today, Route 60 connects Jews, Christians, Muslims, Israelis, Palestinians, truthfully every one of us.

ROUTE 60 combines the truth of the Bible with undeniable archaeological proof, and like our tour guides, Pompeo and Friedman, that’s a powerful combination!” –

Why You Should Not Use Talc

Hello Beautiful People,

Please be aware that the products you use on your body or at home may be harmful and make you sick. It’s time to look through your medicine cabinet to see if any of your items have talcum powder as one of its ingredients. Look closely at the things as if you were a detective solving a case.

Drugwatch.com states talcum powder is derived from talc, a soft and naturally occurring mineral used in baby powders, makeup, deodorant, ceramics, and paint. Some research links talc to ovarian cancer and talc contaminated with asbestos to mesothelioma. To learn more about talcum powder and its dangers, click HERE. To learn more about talc and its use in cosmetics, click HERE!

Johnson & Johnson, one of the major companies that used talc for many years, announced in August 2022 that they would stop selling talc-based baby powder globally in 2023. The company faced thousands of lawsuits that claim its product causes cancer. The company insists the decision is purely financial and has nothing to do with the product’s safety. However, in April 2023, they agreed to an $8.9 billion talc settlement. According to a DrugWatch article that outlines the settlement, asbestos was found in a batch of talc. This settlement is a long time coming but will not bring back those whose loved ones passed away.

Talc is not only in baby powder or makeup. It is also found in these unexpected products, like ceramics and paper.

If you have not cleaned out your medicine cabinet or your beauty bag in a long time, now is the time. Look at what you have, check out the ingredients, and dispose of anything that has talc or talcum powder as one of its ingredients. More options are available that are safer and better for you.

God.Family.Football. (Giveaway Winner Announcement)

Hello, Elegant Ones,

Thank you again for entering the giveaway. I have already started to feel a slight coolness in the air, and the leaves on the trees are starting to fall. Driving home this week I saw local high school kids in their football attire practicing on the field and getting geared up to play their first game. Looking through a different lens after watching GOD.FAMILY.FOOTBALL. The Freevee original docuseries made me wonder if those kids are experiencing tremendous pressure possibly because of parents putting their dreams on them, keeping up good grades, or longing to go pro one day. I hope you are running down the field with the football and making that touchdown to watch the series if you haven’t had the chance yet.

God.Family.Football. is available now to watch for free on Amazon Freevee. Stream free on Fire TV, Roku, Amazon Prime Video, or the Amazon Freevee app. NFL quarterback Russell Wilson is the show’s executive producer!

The Five Pillars of Life: A Life Well Lived

Life can be likened to a circus: each act must be masterfully performed in harmony with all others to function effectively and sustain a satisfying and balanced performance. These five pillars should form part of your repertoire: Health, Relationships, Personal Growth, Recreation, and Career.

Health: Your Body as Your Temple
You know it well – your body is your permanent residence, so keep it looking its best by practicing good maintenance! Health is at the core of what keeps the rest of life working smoothly. From nutritious eating habits and physical activity to choosing to hydrate regularly – every decision we make builds up our temple of bodies! Think of it like regular car tune-ups – treat your temple like it deserves respect as one would treat a classic car! So start pumping that heart out, stretch those muscles out, hydrate regularly – treat yourself as you would treat any rundown shack!

Relationships Are Our Lifeline
Relationships provide us with lifelines – they protect us from falling into isolation! Friends, family, and significant others all play an integral part in our lives as friends share triumphs, comfort in defeats, and point out when jokes don’t hit home quite as hard as expected! Relationships define who we are; invest in your bonds by maintaining them – after all, a stitch in time saves nine!

Personal Growth as Your Spiritual Compass
Whatever your spiritual beliefs may be – from an external power such as God to just our human spirits – personal development serves as our spiritual compass, leading us through life’s uncertainties with an approach tailored specifically for ourselves. There’s no one-size-fits-all formula! Your spiritual journey may include traditional religious practices, meditation, exploring nature, or simply pondering life’s mysteries. This pillar represents seeking wisdom, understanding, and purposeful life experiences. Growth as humans is critical. Blacks in Mormonism struggled against racism and bigotry to reach higher planes of existence; their story is just one among hundreds that demonstrate hard-won growth is worth all the hard work! So go out there, explore, question, seek and grow!

Recreation: Fun Is Not Just a Luxury
Imagine this: After many decades have passed and your job title is flourishing nicely with a brand-spanking new car, and perhaps there are even one or two mini-yous running around, what next? Now imagine that having fun is no longer considered luxury but rather essential! To this end, recreation becomes a need rather than a luxury! But when was the last time you experienced the excitement of scoring the winning goal in a friendly soccer match or hitting that high note during a karaoke session? Too often, we leave fun to one side, leaving little room for enjoyment. Recreation isn’t just for relaxing or escaping the mundane; it should nourish your spirit, inspire creativity, and break free of your daily routine. So go ahead, take that salsa class you’ve been considering, or dust off that guitar and start strumming a tune – because all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! And who wants to be Jack anyway?

Career: More Than Just Paying Bills
Your career should not simply be about paying the bills – it should also bring joy, challenge you, and align with your values. So be sure to find something fulfilling to pursue as your professional path.

Conclusion: Balancing The Pillars
Life isn’t a race – it’s an act of balance. Each of these pillars acts like balls to be juggled – one may drop occasionally. No worries, though – pick it back up, polish it, and continue juggling; even master jugglers drop one now and again!
